My family and I have strong ties to the City of Philadelphia. One of our favorite places to visit when in Philadelphia is Reading Terminal Market. If you have not been there before you should pay a visit next time you are near Center City Philadelphia. Reading Terminal Market is one of America’s largest and oldest public markets, housed since 1893 in a National Historic Landmark building. It possesses one of the largest collections of restaurants in one location in the area, a fantastic book store, an incredible tea and herb shop all in the midst of a cornucopia of artisans, food vendors of all types.
There are so many little things that we love about the City of Philadelphia and Reading Terminal Market. I awoke this morning thinking about family, friends and colleagues in Philly today. That resulted in thoughts of The Art Museum and Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts (PAFA). Those thoughts lead to me thinking about some of my Philly paintings. My favorite Philly painting happens to be of Reading Terminal Market. This was done in pastel on paper. The scene happens to be from early morning in early January from a few years ago. Early morning at Reading Terminal Market is our favorite time to be there...
