STG Series is off and running...

"Study the Greats" (STG) is a longer-term series that I am working on in between other stuff. The main objective is to learn as much as possible. One of the secondary objectives is to let all the good stuff I learn, both consciously and subconsciously, inform my original paintings. I can see that start to happen.

Some might express concern about being marginalized as derivative. I say this is likely anyway and why not learn from those who came before. Especially those who did so with excellence.
